I can’t believe I held out for so long!

Team! If you follow me on Instagram you know what I am about to say…

I AM PREGNANT!!

Listen… Going through this first trimester and not being able to share it with you all has had me (and the baby) on our toes!

This year has been filled with the best! Traveling, turning 30, and most special, the baby!

For all the moms out there, kudos to you! The first trimester is no walk in the park. We… I guess I can say that now… have done lots of reflection and want to share 3 discoveries we have made over the last 3 months! Whether you are pregnant, were pregnant, know someone who is pregnant, or none of the above, I hope you find this valuable!

Number #1: You will need support

So at first, I only told my close family and a few of my friends. I couldn’t keep it in and I am so grateful for their support and advice during that time, it was life-changing for me. But keeping it away from people I work with, you guys and distant family and friends was HARD. It can feel pretty lonely and isolating at the beginning.

I’m still not sure how I feel about people traditionally keeping this to themselves for so long (3 whole months), because the overwhelming amount of joy I am experiencing after the announcement feels so warming!

Number#2: Don’t try to control it

These pregnancy symptoms are no joke! I had a whole meal plan laid out and it went right out the window the moment I needed crabs and grease to settle my nausea. Right now, pizza is a girl's best friend!

I had to quickly let go of control and chose to lean in and trust the process. This was a huge but essential adjustment and I trust that I’ll do better as the symptoms hopefully subside 🤞🏼.

Number#3: Do your best

Everyday is a little different… especially with my exercise routine. My heart rate is increasing faster, I get fatigued easier, and sometimes I just have to cut it out or cut it short. In the beginning, not being able to perform the way I typically do was rough. But I also had to lean into doing my best whenever I can and that might mean slower, lower intensity and less days at the gym. & I’m grateful for that.

I am seriously in awe about the things that my body is doing! And I cannot wait to have you on this journey with me.

I hope you found our little discoveries interesting!
